The Trivia Tag reads: RJ Mitchell, designer of the famous Spitfire fighter aircraft, wanted it to be called the Shrew or the Scarab. Instead, it was named after the daughter of Mitchell’s boss, whose fiery character had earned her the nickname ‘Spitfire’
